Welcome to Sathuranga Vettai! This full-length feature film is the most expensive Tamil movie ever made. With a budget of over 400 million rupees, this Indian movie is an action-adventure which follows the story of two brothers who are on a mission to find their long lost father. Sathuranga Vettai means "thousand-armed warrior", and it's named after the main character, Sathuranga Pandiyan. The film was released in India in December 2016, making it one of the most anticipated movies in recent years. It is also expected to be released internationally in 2017, but there has been no word on when exactly that will happen yet. The movie takes place in Chennai, India. It is about two brothers, Manoj Pandiyan (Ajay) and Sanjay Pandiyan (Ravi), who are on a mission to find their long-lost father. Their names are misleading, but they really are the sons of the real Sathuranga Pandiyan. Sathuranga is an archaeologist who has been missing for many years. He was supposedly kidnapped by a skilled swordsman named Chenna Muthulakshmi (played by Ravi), who goes by the name "Santhanam." Once Sathuranga's sons discover the truth about their father's disappearance, they set out on a journey to find him. The Pandiyan brothers travel through Chennai, India on their mission. It's not long before they encounter another skilled swordsman named Vamsi (played by Nandha). He is also after Santhanam, who has stolen something valuable from him. The Pandiyan brothers team up with Vamsi, and together they set out to find Santhanam. They start off on the wrong foot; the Pandiyan brothers are trying to get their father back, but Vamsi wants to be paid for his services first. Their journey takes them into a series of dangerous situations that force them to fight for safety. Along the way, they meet several mysterious characters who are just as skilled at swordsmanship as they are. The film is directed by the well-known Tamil filmmaker Selvaraghavan. He has directed many hit films such as "Aayirathil Oruvan," "Vaalu," and "Kundali." This movie will be the first feature film that he has directed in his own name. The screenplay and dialogues were written by well-known Tamil writer Kavan Pillai, who is known for writing screenplays for movies such as "Vaalu" and "Kundali." He also wrote the story for Selvaraghavan's previous films. The film was produced under the Elephant's Ear banner, which is known for producing huge blockbuster movies such as "29th October".
