1) Are you using the native Minecraft.app for macOS installed from the disk image (DMG) file that shows the version number in the bottom-left corner that was downloaded from mojang.com / minecraft.net? This is the latest client version for Mac:
BTW, in terms of what is happening is that your client is not able to authenticate your account with Mojang's login server. Without that you can only play in Single-player mode, or on multi-player servers that have account authentication turned off (i.e. are running in "offline mode" aka erroneously called "cracked" servers, but they are not cracked or nefarious at all). To run in any normal multiplayer server running in "online mode" (includes Mojang's own "Realms" server) you have to be able to successfully authenticate. This mechanism is what allows servers to actually ban accounts and keeps people from impersonating other people's account names. This is why I wanted to make sure it wasn't any sort of particular firewall or network issue blocking that authentication traffic occurring on just one specific Wi-Fi network.

It's in your Library, while Finder is open... hold Alt/Option key and then on the toolbar, click Go, then click Libraries. Application Support folder should be there, if it's not then just use the search bar to search for the minecraft folder.
Hello, this may help with some people who can't get to where the minecraft save files are:(1) open minecraft app(2) select a world, and then click "edit"(3) click on "Open World Folder"
As you may or may not be aware, Minecraft will require the use of Microsoft accounts starting the 10th of March, 2022. If you've not yet migrated your old legacy/Mojang account over to a Microsoft account, then you'll lose access to be able to login on March 10th, 2022. For more information and instructions on how to migrate, please see the Minecraft.net blog post about this announcement or visit minecraft.net/move. 2ff7e9595c
